Two virtuoisi play together

TWO virtuosi on their instruments, bassist Edgar Meyer and mandolinist Chris Thile, come together on a new Nonesuch album, transparently entitled Bass & Mandolin, out on September 29. Thile's recent solo album, following a career of acclaim with Nickel Creek and the Punch Brothers, was produced by Meyer, and showcased in a memorable concert at Edinburgh's Queen's Hall.
