The trailer for Bridget Jones’s Baby has just dropped… so everyone dropped everything else they were doing and headed to the internet to check it out and share their opinions.
From an excited “sqee!” to fears for a lacklustre sequel, opinion has certainly been divided.
This person broke the repeat button:

One Twitter user has been waiting “so long” for the film, which has been gestating for longer than Bridget Jones’s actual baby.

In fact, the Bridget Jones trailer actually caused some accidental flirting, which is so Bridget Jones.
To the guy who caught me smiling at the new Bridget Jones trailer and thought I was smiling at him, I'M NOT SORRY!

Renée Zellweger, while filming outside a supermarket in Woolwich, London (Daniel Leal-Olivas/PA)
There were fears that this could be a flop of a sequel…

In fact, some people on Twitter were shocked that actors actually age…
Colin Firth just looks so old in the new Bridget Jones trailer ugh how disappointing
— Megan (@megancapri) March 23, 2016
Still curious as to whether that's the same actress playing Bridget Jones
— Simple Man (@Altered_Bridge) March 23, 2016
Renee Zellweger (Anthony Devlin/PA)
But even many of the doubters had to admit they were swayed into reluctant excitement.
Ugh, I hate how excited I am about Bridget Jones's Baby.

Patrick Dempsey’s star turn as one of Bridget Jones’s baby’s potential parents also got a lot of love. Hugh Grant who?
Patrick Dempsey (Markus Schreiber/AP)

At the end of the day, Bridget Jones is still relatable:
The first #BridgetJones film was such an accurate representation of my life that I can't wait to see the new one!!! #BridgetJonesBaby

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
