US comedian Garry Shandling has died at the age of 66 from what appears to be natural causes, a coroner’s official has said.
He was taken from his LA home by ambulance on Thursday morning for an unspecified medical emergency and pronounced dead at a hospital.
Los Angeles County Coroner’s Lieutenant David Smith said there has been no official cause of death determination as yet. Medical records will be used to determine how the comic actor died.

The award-winning comic, who created It’s Garry Shandling’s Show and The Larry Sanders Show, pioneered a form of docudrama comedy which influenced Ricky Gervais, among others.
The Office creator was among the first of several British stars to pay tribute to Garry Shandling.
