Jo Marsh talks about her new show, JoJo Bellini's Kitchen Cabaret.
1 Tell us about your fringe show
Well... My show is a delightful hour of food fun and the songs of Tom Jones. The audience are fed a delicious leek and broccoli soup and Welsh cakes for dessert. All by a saucy hostess with the mostess…
2 Best thing about the Fringe?
Oh wow! Now there is a question! I think the best thing for me is the hidden gems of the fringe. Those acts that are utterly amazing but without representation. Also Prosecco bars.
3 Worse thing about Fringe?
Oh now that is a loaded question! I think it would have to be the fact I don't get to see as many shows as I would like. So many shows, so little time, so many glasses of Prosecco!
4 How many years have you been coming to the Fringe?
Well as a punter six years. As an artist this is my first full run at the Fringe.
5 Favourite Fringe venue?
Ooo lala. Now you are really putting me on the the spot. I must say I love The Stand. Their programming is second to none!
6 Best Fringe memory?
Prosecco! After that it is all a bit of a blur.
7 Best heckle?
Where's the buns??? I cook soup during my show you see.. My answer was "I've got your buns right here baby!" Whilst motioning to my delightful buttocks.
8 Craziest on stage experience?
Now, now. A lady never tells.
9 What’s on your rider?
Prosecco.
10 How do you wind down after a show?
Prosecco... But of course!
11 What do you love about Scotland?
Oh my goodness... Where to start? The people, the hills, the green, green grass. Just everything.
12 What do you like about Edinburgh?
The majesty of the whole town is just fabulous!!!
13 What’s the most Scottish thing you’ve done?
Eaten a deep fried pizza. You were expecting mars bar... But no. Pizza. In Glasgow!!!
14 What kind of jokes do a Scottish crowd seem to respond to?
Well for me it's the naughty ones. I love that they enjoy a cheeky joke.
15 Favourite joke?
Of mine? Or of another's? Wow hard question that's like saying which brand of Prosecco is my favourite. (The answer is all of them)
16 Favourite Scottish food/drink?
Haggis. So delicious! Great with a full breakfast and a glass of Prosecco in the morning.
Jo Marsh's JoJo Bellini's Kitchen Cabaret is on at the Stand Comedy Club 2 until August 28 (exceptt 15th).
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
