Evelyn Mok's new show stand-up show  ‘Bubble Butt’ is on at the Pleasance Courtyard – Bunker, from August 1 - 26.

  • What is your Fringe show about?

After an eventful year, I’m feeling the paradigm shift and trying to figure out my place in this brave new world. I explore my own agency, the third-culture-kid-experience, weight loss and what this shift may mean for me as a woman of colour.

  • How many times/many years have you appeared at the Fringe?

I’ve been up and performed at every Fringe since 2013.

  • What’s your most memorable moment from the Fringe?

I climbed Arthur’s Seat at midnight with a friend my first Edinburgh Fringe. At the top we sang Queen’s “Don’t Stop me now” as we chucked pebbles off the cliff. Very fun.

  • What’s the worst thing about the Fringe?

The congestion! So many people! At the same time that is also the best thing about the fringe!

  • If you were not a performer what would you be doing?

My father wanted me to be a police officer, which really lets me know that he really does not know his daughter well at all, as I would be a very clumsy, lazy and terrible police officer.

  • How do you prepare for a performance?

Go through my setlist in my head which helps me to semi-rehearse it. I also think about how nothing of this really matters and how if it all goes tits up I can always move back to Sweden and apply to be a police officer.

  • Favourite thing about being in Edinburgh?

The creative atmosphere and the amount of shows you can see, there is nothing like it!

  • What’s the most Scottish thing you’ve ever done?

I love Greggs and Wetherspoons and often eat many of my meals there.

  • Favourite Scottish food/drink?

Shortbread and fudge, from Fudge House on cannon gate. Their pistachio and white chocolate fudge is the best thing ever.

  • Sum up your show in three words Seriously dumb show.
