Laura Lexx discusses animals, embarrassing life stories and Fringe tantrums.

Tell us about your Fringe show

It’s the best one. The whole best show at the whole Fringe. Especially if you like animals, embarrassing life stories and me. I reckon though, that even if you hated all those things you’d still like it.

Best thing about the Fringe?

My show? Probably that. But also the atmosphere… it feels like a month long school trip complete with a few tantrums and ill advised footwear.

Worst thing about the Fringe?

I’ll have to check with my PR to see if I’m allowed to dislike anything about the Fringe.

How many years have you been coming to the Fringe?

This will be my 6th time as a performer and my 7th visit… Could be about time I thought about doing something else with my summer?

Favourite Fringe venue?

I have a real fondness for The Dragonfly as it was the venue I was in for my first full run here. We did a chaotic panel show that was so much fun.

Best Fringe memory?

The Wrestling. Hands down.

Best heckle?

I’m not legally allowed to discuss it until his lawyers have decided if I did any long term psychological damage with the severity of my put down.

Craziest on stage experience?

There’s nothing quite like performing to 7 people in a 50 seater room. Oh, and none of them have English as a first language. That’s a truly Fringe experience!

What’s on your rider?

Tea. Tea is the most delicious brown thing on the planet.

How do you wind down after a show?

I don’t try to. My show is pretty high energy and upbeat and I like to just ride that wave until I crash,

What do you love about Scotland?

Their breakfasts! Scottish breakfast is responsible for most of my thighs.

What do you like about Edinburgh?

The smell. That hoppy scent that wafts around and smells like a good ale pie…

What’s the most Scottish thing you’ve done?

Be born to Scottish parents.

What kind of jokes do a Scottish crowd seem to respond to?

Funny ones. They’re weird like that.

Favourite joke?

Why were Zippy and George googling gastric bands?

Because Bungle is massive.

Laura Lexx will perform at Underbelly Med Quad from today until August 17 and 19-30.
