Twins discuss smug Londoners, car crash flyers and Ribena.

Tell us about your Fringe show

Twins: Pret A Comedy is (very loosely speaking) a sketch comedy show. Our style is deliberately shambolic, extremely laidback and quite silly.

Best thing about the Fringe?

Having three weeks away from our day jobs.

Worst thing about the Fringe?

It's a safe haven from all the smug London based performers.

How many years have you been coming to the Fringe?

This will be our sixth consecutive year at the fringe, but our third year as Twins.

Favourite Fringe venue?

Our current venue, Pleasance Beside! Mainly because it exists (our original venue was taken away from us in the Freestival/PBH debacle)...

Best Fringe memory?

One year our flyers were in a car crash on the way up to Edinburgh. Luckily none of them were hurt.

Best heckle?

We did a preview in London the other week and really drunk woman shouted that she hadn't been out for a year. Turns out she'd been in prison.

Craziest on stage experience?

In our first Twins show, we performed in a bar which people would walk through to get to another venue and the toilets. One day an orchestra came and walked across the stage to get their instruments from the cupboard. The windows in the bar looked out onto a building site, so the backdrop to our show was builders drilling (something to compete with the sound of the hand dryers from the loo and the bar staff on their phones throughout our show). What was the question again?

What’s on your rider?

Ribena.

How do you wind down after a show?

Crack open a couple of Ribenas.

What do you love about Scotland?

Who said we loved Scotland?

What do you like about Edinburgh?

The smell of hops which makes you want to eat toast all the time.

What’s the most Scottish thing you’ve done?

This interview.

What kind of jokes do a Scottish crowd seem to respond to?

I think, much like with English crowds, you JUST CAN’T PREDICT THESE THINGS.

Favourite joke?

‘I’m sorry, your venue no longer exists’ (you couldn’t write it!)

Twins will perform at the Pleasance Courtyard on August 13-31.
