HIGH-end luggage firm LAT56, which was established in Glasgow nearly seven years ago, has switched its headquarters to Dundee.

Headed by Strathclyde University design engineering graduate Kevin Fox, the business has moved to District 10, a space for creative businesses constructed from 37 recycled shipping containers on the site of a former railway goods yard.

Mr Fox said: "District 10 will become the new heart of Dundee's growing creative sector and as a brand with a strong international outlook, with a constant need to be cutting edge, I believe we are going to thrive in this fantastic location."

The company, which employs three people in Dundee and another three in Glasgow, has also signed a deal to become the official supplier of bags to Dubai airline Emirates.

LAT56 sells its goods through luxury retailer, Selfridges and online to customers across North America and Europe.
