THISTLY Cross Cider has joined the ranks of the Craft Beer Clan of Scotland, the company set up develop sales of Scottish drinks products in export markets, writes Scott Wright.

The partnership will see Dunbar-based Thistly Cross tap into the Clan's growing network of bars, retailers and wholesalers in countries such as China, Dubai, Hong Kong, Switzerland and Denmark.

The organisation, which now has 25 members, drawn largely from the craft brewing and distilling scene, has been holding talks with importers, Thailand, Taiwan, Canada, Sweden, Philippines, Russia and Spain over further distribution deals.

Chris Miller, export director at the Craft Beer Clan of Scotland, said: "The clan's aims are pretty simple: to share the finest Scottish beer and spirits with drinkers all over the world. We're delighted we can now add Thistly Cross's world-class cider to that as well.

"The Craft Beer Clan works hard to promote Scottish craft beer and spirits to drinkers in other countries, and it's fantastic we can now offer cider as well, catering to a whole new market and building on Scotland's reputation as a world-class producer of drink, whether that's craft beer, craft spirits or, in Thistly Cross's case, craft cider."
