A COMPANY which provides photo booths and picture sharing apps to special events and consumer brands is forecasting a 50 per cent rise in turnover.

LookLook, founded by husband and wife Darran Barton and Frances Spencer in 2010, has worked with the likes of Nike, John Lewis and Burton in recent months.

Along with weddings it has been used at parties for the likes of BAFTA and Vogue and even at the birthday celebrations of comedian Steve Coogan.

LookLook said it has seen a major upturn in business since developing its own mobile device app and photo booth allowing people to share pictures in the animated Graphics Interchange Format (GIF).

The so-called GIFGIF booth takes a series of images in succession and then merges them into a short animation.

Users then receive access to that via their mobile phone and the GIF can be shared instantly online.

Frances Spencer said: “The appetite for the GIFGIF booth is at an all time high since we launched it in 2014.

“The time for the social photo technology is now and our equipment enables user to create engaging imagery and share this experience via their preferred social media instantly, from Facebook to Instagram and Twitter.

“Brands and corporate customers love it as you can brand each GIF and it provides fresh and unique content.”

Turnover at the Edinburgh company is expected to reach £600,000 in the 12 months to the end of February.

LookLook designs its own photo booths and outsources the manufacturing to other businesses in Scotland.

Ms Spencer said: “When we started we just built the first ones from scratch.”

The business, which employs 16 across Scotland and London, is planning to launch new products into the wedding market in 2016. It currently hires out around 40 photo booths every month.
