TOMATIN Distillery in Inverness said it had increased visitor numbers by 40 per cent after investing in its visitor centre.

Turnover at the visitor centre had also increased by 50 percent to £580,000 after the investment in staff and facilities.

Eighty per cent of staff live and work onsite in 30 distillery houses.

Tomatin was established in 1897 and historically produced whisky was primarily sold for use in other brands of blended whisky. The distillery said it was now very focused on growing the Tomatin single malt brand in its own right.
