A KILMARNOCK-based metalwork fabricator has won contracts worth more than £800,000, giving it the confidence to take on three staff and bring an apprentice on board.

Annandale Design has secured work with eight clients in the last three months, including contracts with the University of Glasgow and at Edinburgh’s Quartermile office development.

The company said the wins have boosted its growth projections, giving it the headroom to invest in three new trades people and an apprentice at its Kilmarnock workshop.

More than 70 per cent of the work stems from referrals, and including the redevelopment of Brodick Ferry Terminal on the Isle of Arran and Edinburgh Gateway Station at Gogar.

Further work has been secured with construction giant BAM, including projects at Barrhead High School in East Renfrewshire, and at Our Lady and Saint Patrick’s High School in Dumbarton. Annandale will also be working on the University of Glasgow’s state of the art Imaging Centre of Excellence.

Operations director Graeme Frew said: “2016 has been an incredibly busy and exciting year for us. We are delighted to have been appointed to these recent new projects, allowing us to invest in our infrastructure and equipment, but also our team who are the most important aspect to our business.

“Over the next twelve to eighteen months, we hope to continue to grow our family business and team, move into new markets in the UK and reach a £2m turnover.”
