CHILD savings accounts have seen more than 100 interest rate cuts in 2016 with some deals now paying as little as 0.1 per cent.

Research from Money Facts found that the average children’s saver rate is now 1.39 per cent, down from 1.61 per cent a year ago and 1.54 per cent in 2014.

The best rate is on Coventry Building Soceity’s junior ISA, which pays 3.25 per cent.
