THE Glasgow-based Clyde Bergemann boiler cleaning operation increased sales by four per cent to £8.1 million in the year to 28 February, from £7.8m in the preceding year. Pre tax profits fell to £1.7m from £1.8m. In their strategic report directors said the ompany started the current year in a strong position with £2.8m orders. The accounts note the Georgenbach Company took 100 per cent ownership of Clyde Bergemann Group in April, At the time of the deal Georgenbach was owned by Xu Qiang, who headed Clyde Bergemann’s South East Asia operations. The Clyde Blowers group led by Scots entrepreneur Jim McColl had a 30 per cent stake in Clyde Bergemann.
