West Lothian shopping centre welcomes five new retailers

A West Lothian shopping centre has had a strong start to the summer after signing up five new retailers.

Burger King, The Entertainer, Officers Club, PerfectHome and Fuel have all agreed to open at The Centre, Livingston.

The lettings announcement has been welcomed by centre owners, Land Securities.

Rich Hutchinson, Land Securities portfolio manager for Scotland, said: “It’s fantastic news that we are able to announce these five new lettings at The Centre, Livingston. These are exciting additions which will add to the already impressive portfolio of retailers.

“Each letting will offer something different to shoppers and we look forward to the openings later this year.”

Burger King, has signed a 20-year deal with the centre’s owners and plans to open in October. Toy store, The Entertainer, which has opened 34 new stores in the last three years, has signed a 10 year deal and is due to open in November. The new store will also bring 10 new jobs to The Centre.

Gary Grant, managing director and founder of The Entertainer, said: “After experiencing such solid growth across England and Wales we needed to establish our brand in Scotland and we are pleased to announce our second store in Scotland.

“We felt Livingston and The Centre itself offered a strong retail position for our store as it attracts large numbers of family shoppers who are demanding more toy shopping choice on the high street and within shopping centres.

“We look forward to bringing joy and wonder to the children of Livingston and we have plans to increase our presence in Scotland.”

Officers Club recently opened in The Centre after signing a five year deal.

PerfectHome will open its fifth Scottish store at the end of August. The company has signed a 10-year deal.

Gordon Allan, PerfectHome area manager, said: “We’re looking forward to opening our brand-new store at The Centre at the end of August, with a two-day family fun event with entertainment and prize giveaways.

“We’ve recruited a strong team of seven for the Livingston store and I’m confident that we will add an exciting product offering and great customer service to The Centre’s retail mix.”

Fuel has also signed up a 10 year deal and its kiosk will open on the mall floor in mid-August.
