AGGREKO has signalled its intention to appoint KPMG as the group's external auditor, writes Scott Wright.

The temporary power supplier, which is currently audited by PWC, will seek shareholder approval to appoint KPMG as its annual general meeting in 2016.

The change comes after Aggreko's audit committee invited accountancy firms to tender for the work.

PWC will undertake the external audit for the year ending December 31, having been reappointed at this year's annual meeting.

Aggreko announced in June that Debajit Das, regional director for Asia Pacific and David Taylor-Smith, regional director for Europe, Middle East and Africa, would both be stepping down. The changes were the first strategic moves overseen by chief executive Chris Weston, who took over the reins in January.
