Arran secures approval for brewery from national park

ARRAN Brewery has secured planning permission from Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park for its proposed brewery overlooking Loch Earn.

The brewery is part of a wider plan by Arran to open a 32-bedroom hotel, bars, restaurants, and visitor centre on the site of the former Drummond Hotel.

It now hopes the venue will be open in time for the start of the Commonwealth Games in July.

The overall project is being funded by a combination of bank finance and the sale of shares in a crowdfunding scheme.

Arran's Gerald Michaluk said: "The Parks authority has been fantastic and very professional in handling this development and the project will now move ahead at a very rapid pace".
