INSURANCE broker and risk adviser Marsh has made a total of four appointments to its offices in Edinburgh and Aberdeen, saying it is an "exciting time" for the company in Scotland.

It follows its purchase in January of Aberdeen-based independent broker Central Insurance Services in a deal thought to be worth at least £10 million. Bruce Lees is joining its Edinburgh office from Aon as head of its national corporate practice, which focuses on the risk and insurance requirements of mid-market and upper SMEs.

Marsh said Mr Lees will drive its growth in this expanding sector, bringing expertise in "broking for large businesses, a global understanding of insurance markets, and a strong appreciation of the risks faced by businesses looking to expand overseas". Also joining the Edinburgh office, from Willis, is Tom Murphy as client executive.

Boosting the ranks at its Aberdeen office are Sonny Still as a client executive, and Donna Main as client adviser. Both come from Willis in Aberdeen, bringing in-depth experience of the oil and gas services sector.
