Businesses vie for awards

Eight Scots businesses are on a regional shortlist of Lloyds TSB's Enterprise Awards for university and graduate entrepreneurs, which will award prizes of £10,000 and £50,000.

Nominated are Robomotic, a Glasgow research and development healthcare company; ShirtbyHand, an Aberdeen tailor; Flexpansion, an Edinburgh-based app firm; Homestayfriend, a Glasgow-based online platform connecting international students with UK hosts; World Whisky Day, a day of global whisky celebration; Prestwick-based Vicki Fiddes Podiatry; Micro Fitness, a gym for children; and MeeMee Couture, an Ayrshire dress design firm.
