A building firm has kicked off 2012 with a string of contract wins which are worth more than £3 million.

All six of the agreements were won through competitive tender.

The largest project secured by Clark Contracts is £860,000 from the Irvine Bay Regeneration company to design and build small business workshops on Ailsa Road in Irvine, North Ayrshire.

Next up is a £760,000 deal to refurbish the A-listed Steeple Church in Dundee and £675,000 of work to overhaul Galston Community Centre in East Ayrshire.

Strathclyde Fire and Rescue awarded a £455,000 contract for an internal refurbishment and extension at Castlemilk Fire Station in Glasgow while Sportscotland hired Clark Contracts to complete a £250,000 extension to the gym at the Inverclyde National Training Centre in Largs.

Finally, Strathclyde Police awarded the business a £100,000 contract to replace windows and doors at the police station in Dunoon.

Steve Clark, founder and chairman, was delighted to have secured so much business in January.

He said: "We are especially pleased to be starting the New Year with these great new contract wins."

Clark Contracts employs around 200 staff across its headquarters in Paisley and an office in Edinburgh.
