Ex-council chief new food boss

BRAEHEAD Foods has appointed Fergus Chambers as the new chairman of the fine-food wholesaling and Scottish game-processing business.

Mr Chambers is managing director of Buell Group, a hospitality industry consultancy, and director of Chambers Business Solutions.

He was previously managing director of Cordia, executive director of Glasgow City Council and is a past chairman of hospitality careers body Springboard Scotland.

Craig Stevenson, managing director of Braehead Foods, said Mr Chambers brings "a wealth of commercial experience and industry knowledge" to the Kilmarnock-based firm.
