THE Scottish Loan Fund has invested £700,000 in Edinburgh-based ExecSpace to support its growth ambitions.

The company plans to use the funding to move into London and capitalise on the growth currently being seen in the event services and management sector.

ExecSpace, founded by Emma Little in 2008, provides event and accommodation booking services for more than 200 organisations across the UK, including Grant Thornton, Aggreko, Aegon and Nucleus.

Julie Glenny at Maven Capital Partners, which manages the Scottish Loan Fund with the Scottish Investment Bank, said: "We have been extremely impressed with Emma and her team and are delighted to provide SLF support to assist them in achieving their vision for ExecSpace.

"An intimate knowledge of the market has helped the business to deliver year on year growth during a turbulent recessionary period."

Ms Little said the "flexibility of the fund has allowed for the funds to be tailored specifically to the needs of our business. Maven has been an excellent investment partner and we look forward to working with them during the continued expansion of our business."
