ACCOUNTANCY firms Infinity Partnership and Accord Tax have completed a merger.

The deal will see Accord move from its premises in central Aberdeen to Infinity Partnership's west end office.

The firms said the combined business will have a turnover of £2 million, nine staff and more than 1,000 clients.

At the moment the names of both firms are being retained and there are plans to hire three more tax specialists over the next few months.

Infinity Partnership was founded by prolific corporate deal maker Simon Cowie, previously a partner at Hall Morrice, in 2011.

He said: "Accord has an international client base and has a strong reputation for its tax advisory and compliance specialisms, while we bring strong business advisory skills to the table, in particular in the mergers and acquisitions arena.

"The merger is the ideal coming together not only for us but also our clients. The aim is to continue to build a full-service accountancy business; one that continues to deliver first-class proactive support that adds real value to our clients."

John Atkinson, tax director at Accord, said: "A key advantage will be our ability to broaden the portfolio of services available to clients.

"Merging with Infinity Partnership creates a huge opportunity for both the business and our clients. I am looking forward to heading up and building the tax team."

Infinity Partnership said it has completed deals with a value of more than £200 million since it was formed.
