BREAKDOWN recovery company AA has said the number of its individual members fell 2.5 per cent to 3.9 million in the year to October, though business customers lifted 3.5 per cent to 8.9 million over the same period.

The Basingstoke-based business said pre-tax profits for the three months to October 31 jumped 43.3 per cent to £35.4 million compared to a year ago, helped by lower debt costs and new contracts from VW Group, Hyundai and Porsche.
