A WEB design and digital marketing agency has opened a satellite office in London and a franchise in Bristol as it expands across the UK.

Organic Digital, based in Glasgow, expects to double its turnover to £300,000 this year on the back of an expanding client list and wants to reach £1 million in the next three years.

Managing director Graeme Kerr said the need for a physical presence in London was driven by a growing demand from potential customers.

He said: "We have a few contacts down in London and the people we have been talking to were keen for us to have some sort of presence there before doing business with us.

"It is a satellite office at the moment but if things take off the plan would be to have at least one account manager down there."

The company also hopes its franchising model – with Bristol-based marketing specialist Lindsey Sandom-Brownwill as the first adopter – will help to grow its brand across the UK and into other countries.

Mr Kerr said: "The franchisees will sell what we do. So they will do the sales and dealing with clients while we do all the production work in Glasgow.

"It is a way for us to extend our reach outside the central belt of Scotland where most of our clients are at the moment.

"We have mapped out the UK into about 40 territories, which could be franchises, and we have ambitions to do it abroad as well once we have a reasonable number in the UK."

A private investor has taken a small stake in the company in exchange for an unspecified amount of funding.

Mr Kerr said: "We were going to progress with the plans for London and the franchises anyway but the investment has helped us to do it better and quicker."

He also expects to add "two or three" to the current workforce of eight before the end of the year.

Organic, founded in 2005, provides services such as web design and development, e-commerce systems, search engine optimisation, mobile apps, loyalty systems and digital signage.
