LOMOND The Wholesale Food Co, the Glasgow-based food service company, has secured a £1 million investment from NatWest Scotland to expand into new premises.

The business, which was set up by husband and wife team Sam and Barbara Henderson in 1997 and turns over £13 million, delivers ambient, chilled and frozen foods to supermarkets, wholesalers and catering firms across Scotland and England.

The new 25,000 sq ft building on Keppochhill Road has been refurbished to accommodate the wholesale side of the business. This will complement Lomond’s 19,000 sq ft nearby bakery site, which predominantly fulfils a contract with a national wholesaler at their 27 depots.

"We reached a stage where we were simply outgrowing our existing premises five miles down the road and needed to create the capacity for further growth,” Mr Henderson said.
