CHARTERED accountancy firms Scott-Moncrieff and Ogilvie & Company have announced plans to merge. Scott Moncrieff said the merger with its smaller rival will expand the firm’s tax advice and trust management operations. Managing partner Stewart MacDonald said the firm aimed to grow income by 50 per cent over the next five years, through a mix of strategic acquisition and improved efficiency. Established by David Ogilvie in 2002, Ogilvie & Company employs five people in Edinburgh. Mr Ogilvie and three members of the team will move to Scott-Moncrieff’s office in the city. The merger will not result in any redundancies. It is due to take effect from 1 May. Scott-Moncrieff has an office in Glasgow. The 19 partner firm has 180 staff. It expanded in the Highlands last year through the acquisition of Callander Colgan in Inverness.
