THE McEwens of Perth brand and the department store’s other intellectual property assets have attracted interest from the UK and overseas, according to the consultancy handling the sale.

Metis Partners said the marketing process was continuing, with best and final offers above a minimum offer level of £25,000 being invited by noon on Wednesday, 1st June.

Nat Baldwin, the firm’s head of corporate recovery, said the assets would offer “considerable opportunities for a purchaser to stand out amongst its competitors by preserving the brand for business.”

Founded in 1868, McEwens fell into administration in March with the loss of 110 jobs.
