Lawrie & Symington Ltd sold 19 prime heifers in Lanark on Monday to a top of 249p and an average of 237.8p (-0.6p on the week), while 4 prime, beef-bred bullocks peaked at 212p and levelled at 210.2p (+0.3p). Eight prime, B&W bullocks sold to 141.5p and averaged 134.2p (-4.8p).

In the rough ring 60 beef cows averaged 114.5p (-5.2p) and 60 dairy cows levelled at 80.1p (-4.1p).

The firm also sold 2256 prime lambs to a top of £82 and 190.5p to average 144.6p (+2.8p).

The 733 cast sheep forward saw ewes sell to £110 for Texels and £42 for Blackfaces.

Messrs Craig Wilson Ltd sold 24 prime heifers at Ayr yesterday to a top of 231p and an average of 212.4p, while 4 prime bullocks peaked at 221p and levelled at 191p.

In the rough ring 103 beef cows averaged 101.6p and 178 dairy cows levelled at 78,9p. Ten bulls averaged 106.5p and 9 clean OTM cattle levelled at 148.5p.
