The firm also sold 822 prime lambs to a top of £84 per head and 182p per kg to average 159.4p.
The 155 cast sheep forward saw heavy ewes sell to £90 for a Texel and average £69.97, while light ewes peaked at £74 for Cheviots and levelled at £57.25.
Wallets Marts sold 1267 prime lambs in Castle Douglas yesterday to a top of £81.50 and 200.5p to average £69.70 and 163.5p.
A small show of 91 cast sheep saw Blackface ewes sell to £53.
Messrs Craig Wilson Ltd sold 9 prime heifers at Ayr yesterday to a top of £1323.70 per head and 217p per kg to average £1158.51 and 209.4p, while a prime bullock fetched £1237.15 or 227p. A couple of prime, B&W bulls averaged £834.03 or 150.9p.
In the rough ring 29 beef cows averaged 103.3p and 56 dairy cows levelled at 71.2p.
A small show of 9 dairy cattle sold to £1300 for a freshly-calved Holstein Friesian heifer and averaged £1138.
