Wallets Marts sold 990 prime lambs in Castle Douglas on Tuesday to a top of £93.50 per head and 214.3p per kg to average £77.80 and 183.1p (+2.8p on the week).
The firm also had 299 cast sheep forward when ewes sold to £117 for Texels and £63 for Blackfaces.
C&D Auction Marts Ltd had 8 prime cattle forward in Dumfries yesterday when heifers sold to 220.5p per kg and averaged 198.2p, while bullocks also peaked at 220.5p but levelled at 211.3p.
There were 48 OTM cattle presented in the rough ring when beef cows sold to 146p and averaged 124.3p, while dairy cows peaked at 144p and levelled at 94.8p.
The firm also had 736 prime lambs forward that sold to £94 and 200p to average 183.5p (+2p).
A nice show of 371 cast sheep saw heavy ewes sell to £128.50 for Texels and average £67.32 (-£7.99), while light ewes peaked at £72.50 for Cheviots and levelled at £55.47 (+£8.36).
