United Auctions sold 232 store heifers at Stirling on Wednesday to a top of 268.6p per kg and an average of 216.3p (+2.9p on the week), while 475 store, beef-bred bullocks peaked at 270.4p and levelled at 217.8p (-3.8p). One-hundred-and-forty-three store, B&W bullocks sold to 165.7p and averaged 146.6p (+10.2p), while 49 store bulls peaked at 222.3p and levelled at 203.1p (no comparison).

In the rough ring 92 beef cows sold to 154.2p and averaged 119.2p (-6p), while 16 dairy cattle peaked at 103.3p and levelled at 81.3p (n/c).

C&D Auction Marts Ltd sold 6 prime heifers in Dumfries on Wednesday to a top of 218.5p and an average of 202.3p.

There were 55 OTM cattle presented in the rough ring when beef cows averaged 111.9p and dairy cows levelled at 93.4p.

The firm also sold 1178 prime lambs to a top of £103.50 per head and 218p per kg to average 190p (+6.5p).

The 549 cast sheep forward saw heavy ewes sell to £114.50 for Texels and average £65.96 (-£1.36), while light ewes peaked at £66 for Cheviots and levelled at £40.24 (-£15.23).

Messrs Craig Wilson Ltd sold 1907 prime lambs in Newton Stewart on Wednesday to a top of £105 and 219.5p to average 190.1p (+7.6p).

There were also 423 cast sheep that saw ewes sell to £110 for Texels and £57.50 for Blackfaces.
