MESSRS Craig Wilson Ltd sold 115 store heifers at Stirling on Thursday to a top of £1200 per head and 232.7p per kg to average £783.09 and 193.8p (-2p on the week), while 163 store, beef-bred bullocks also peaked at £1200 but had a higher top price per kg of 257.6p and levelled at £861.01 and 205.8p (+1p). Seventy-three store, B&W bullocks sold to £940 and 170.3p to average £616.78 and 130.2p (-5.4p).
C&D Auction Marts Ltd sold 3909 prime lambs in Longtown on Thursday to a top of £100 per head and 229p per kg to average 164.7p (-1.5p).
A larger show of 6122 cast sheep saw heavy ewes sell to £151 for Texels and average £68.63 (-28p), while light ewes peaked at £61 for Cheviots and levelled at £38.56 (+£2.25). Rams sold to £154 for a Charollais and averaged £91.70.
