John Swan Ltd sold 57 prime heifers in St Boswells yesterday to a top of 246p per kg and an average of 207.6p (-3.2p on the week), while 37 prime bullocks peaked at 235p and levelled at 208p (+3.7p).

In the rough ring 54 beef-type cows averaged 134.2p (-1.2p) and 4 clean OTM cattle levelled at 158.8p (-0.2p).
In common with other markets the prices for prime hoggs and prime lambs eased significantly on the week.
The firm sold 655 prime hoggs to a top of £97 per head and 189p per kg to average £79.43 and 167p (-9p), while 373 prime lambs peaked at £105 and 222p to level at £84.85 and 199p (-8p).
The 360 cast sheep forward saw heavy ewes sell to £152 for a Texel and average £76.96, while light ewes peaked at £99 for Cheviots and levelled at £62.42.
Harrison & Hetherington Ltd sold 14 prime heifers in Carlisle yesterday to a top of 209.5p and an average of 177.1p (-2.5p), while 23 prime bullocks peaked at 213.5p and levelled at 186.3p +16.7p). A prime, dairy-bred bullock fetched 136.5p. Twenty-seven prime, beef-bred bulls sold to 206.5p and averaged 177.1p (+6.7p), while 52 prime, dairy-bred bulls peaked at 169.5p and levelled at 140p (+0.7p).
In the rough ring 110 beef cows averaged 134.9p (+3.6p) and 187 dairy cows levelled at 105.2p (-3p). Eight bulls averaged 129.4p (+0.6p).
The firm also sold 759 prime hoggs to a top of £100.80 and 202.3p to average 172p (+4.8p), while 379 prime lambs peaked at £105.80 and 248.8p to level at 196.5p (-12.6p).
The 124 cast sheep forward saw ewes sell to £116 for Beltex and £84 for Hill Cheviots.
Messrs Craig Wilson Ltd sold 512 prime hoggs at Ayr yesterday to a top of £86 and 183.3p to average 161.4p (-11.5p), while 138 prime lambs peaked at £105 and 216.3p to level at 190.1p (-19.1p).
There were also 644 cast sheep forward when ewes sold to £136.50 for Texels and £78,50 for Blackfaces.
Lawrie & Symington Ltd sold 17 prime heifers in Lanark yesterday to a top of 266p and an average of 236p (+11.5p), while 9 prime, beef-bred bullocks peaked at 247p and levelled at 216.3p (+10p). Four prime, B&W bullocks sold to 146.5p and averaged 142.6p (+6.9p).
In the rough ring 26 beef cows averaged 130.6p (-1p) and 36 dairy cows levelled at 105.1p (+0.9p).
The firm also sold 1851 prime hoggs to a top of £97.50 and 206.1p to average 170.2p (-17.3p), while 83 prime lambs peaked at £106 and 232.6p to level at 205.8p (-5.7p).
The 339 cast sheep forward saw ewes sell to £129.50 for Texels and £74.50 for Blackfaces.
