Southside Film Festival is returning with a new season of films for 2015 with monthly screenings in The Glad Cafe and at Govanhill Baths for two weekends of late night comedy films at during the Comedy Festival in March.

The Glad Cafe screenings kick off on January 20 with Death Watch, the dystopian sci-fi shot in Glasgow at the end of the 1970s. Bertrand Tavernier's strikingly prescient futuristic drama has as ace reporter Roddy (pictured) with a camera implanted in his eye to record everything he sees. His job is to capture the last days of the terminally ill Katherine (Romy Schneider) for the viewing pleasure of voyeuristic millions. The film makes atmospheric use of the decaying industrial heartland of late 1970s Glasgow and also featuresSouthsider Robbie Coltrane in his first film role.
