Shepherd Surveyors makes key appointments
Shepherd Chartered Surveyors has made a number of promotions in its offices in Moray, Highlands and the West of Scotland
In the west of Scotland region the firm has promoted Glasgow Southside residential partner Martin Waite to managing partner whilst fellow residential surveyors, Alan Fleming in Glasgow West End and Steven Ferguson in Dumbarton are promoted partners.
In Shepherd’s Ayr office commercial surveyor Kevin Bell has also been promoted to partner.
Meanwhile, at the company’s Elgin and Inverness offices respectively Olga MacGregor and Neil Calder have been promoted associates. Mr Calder will continue to carry out commercial agency, valuation, development and investment work.
Shepherd’s senior partner George Brewster said: “These promotions demonstrate that Shepherd continues to provide a solid career platform for able and capable surveyors and a stimulating environment within which ambitious, talented personnel can realise their full potential.”
Abbeyfield Scotland appoints two to its board
Abbeyfield Scotland, the not-for-profit organisation that provides independent living with support for older people in Scotland, has appointed Hazel Allen and Libby Anderson as non-executive directors.
Ms Allen is a qualified chartered accountant with over 20 years’ experience working at a senior level in both public and private organisations in the UK and the US.
She started her career with PwC and then moved to a senior financial role in California’s Silicon Valley. When she returned to the UK, she became finance director for the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI).
Libby Anderson is a specialist in public policy development with over 20 years’ experience in the charitable sector. This includes working at OneKind, the animal protection charity based in Edinburgh, where she has worked on public policy development. She was previously the parliamentary officer for the Scottish SPCA.
Abbeyfield Scotland chairman James Craigie said: “We warmly welcome Hazel and Libby to the Board. We now have a very strong range of skills on our board which will be essential as we move the business forward.
“With their support, we can continue to provide and develop further the highest quality services possible for our current and future residents and their families.”
