Airline easyJet has poached Andrew Findlay from Halfords as its new finance director.

Mr Findlay will join the Luton-based carrier by the end of October.

The chartered accountant has been chief financial officer at bikes and car parts retailer Halfords since 2011.

Prior to that he held senior roles in Marks & Spencer, the London Stock Exchange and Cable & Wireless.

Carolyn McCall, chief executive of easyJet said: "Andrew is a proven FTSE 250 CFO with great consumer experience and a strong focus on cost. "He is part of the leadership team at Halfords which has created a much more customer centric and profitable business."

Mr Findlay replaces Chris Kennedy after the airline announced in January he would leave to become the head of finance at microchip firm ARM Holdings.
