An expert panel of judges, including Bonnie Clarke who was 'Female Director of the Year' at the Institute of Directors last year, will select the winners for the s1 Recruitment Awards, to be staged on Thursday 2 April.

Her fellow judges include Tricia Paine, resourcing manager at Clydesdale Bank, who was a judge in 2014, and new panel members Stephen O'Donnell, founder of PC Evaluate, Nicola Taylor from Scotland IS, Emma Mirrington, founder of The Firm, and Lynsey Chambers, training centre manager at City Building Glasgow, whose team scooped the Apprenticeship Award at the s1 awards in 2014.

Mr O'Donnell said: "As a professional recruiter for 28 years, and chair of the National Online Recruitment Awards, I am very much of the view that the candidate experience is absolutely essential in online recruitment.

"Far too often do candidates feel commoditised by the recruitment process, with very rare human interaction. The s1 Recruitment Awards seeks to identify and recognise those who make it their business to deliver a great candidate experience."

Ms Chambers said she would be looking for " strong commitment towards developing today's young people, and the long term unemployed, to meet the socio-economic demands placed upon modern businesses".

Ms Taylor said: " I am looking for people who can think outside the box and show that they are working in the best interests of their clients."

Gavin Mochan, sales director of s1, will chair the judging of 16 of the 20 categories, including 10 new categories this year, while the other four are decided by the votes of s1 users.

The categories are: Best Large Recruitment Agency; Best Small Recruitment Agency; Recruitment Consultant of the Year; Best Employer Brand; Best Digital Creative; Best Recruitment Campaign; Apprenticeship Award; Best Employer Training & Development; Best Recruitment Website; Best Recruitment Innovation; Best In-House Recruitment Team (under 1000 employees); Best In-House Recruitment Team (over 1000 employees); Best Graduate Recruitment Strategy; Best Recruitment Campaign (Gov/Public Sector); Best use of Social Media as part of a Recruitment Campaign; Most Effective Employer Brand Development; Best Onboarding Strategy; Best Recruitment Video; HR Team of the Year; Chairman's Award for Outstanding Achievement.
