Marks resigns travel firm role

The former chief executive of the embattled Co-operative Group has resigned as a non-executive director of Thomas Cook.

Peter Marks joined the board of the travel firm in October 2011 but it has emerged the 64-year-old plans to retire from the post following the company's annual general meeting next month.
