SCOTTISH Financial Enterprise chief executive Owen Kelly is stepping down after more than seven years in charge of the industry organisation.

Mr Kelly, who had spent 20 years in the civil service prior to joining SFE, is the longest serving boss in the history of the body.

The 51-year-old will stay in place until his replacement is identified, which is expected to take between six and eight months.

FWB Park Brown has been appointed to recruit the new chief executive.

SFE chairman Sir Ewan Brown said: "Owen Kelly has been an outstanding chief executive and has served SFE members and the wider financial services community in Scotland well for over seven years.

"As the longest ever serving chief executive of SFE, he has brought tremendous insight and knowledge of the workings of governments, politics and the wider public sector, both throughout the UK and internationally, to the job of representing our industry."
