Move for Wine Guy
GLASGOW-based drinks wholesaler Inverarity Morton (IM) has appointed Guy Chatfield as director of wine sales.
Mr Chatfield, who has held sales roles with wine firms Justerini & Brooks, Matthew Clark, Concha y Toro and, most recently, Boutinot in a 15-year career in the drinks industry, replaces Tarquin de Burgh. Mr de Burgh has left IM to pursue other interests.
Mr Chatfield, who starts his new role on July 1, said: "The business is in fantastic shape and it is a great time for me to get on board. IM is a formidable force and few merchants can compete on the overall proposition."
Real estate recruits
TWO new directors, Jamie Drummond and Phil Sherwood, have been appointed to the real estate finance team at Royal Bank of Scotland Corporate & Institutional Banking (RBS CIB).
Mr Sherwood joins the team with 30 years' banking experience in the Scottish market, including more than 15 years at RBS CIB. In his recent role he worked in the global restructuring group and in corporate asset finance, running the Lombard Corporate business in Scotland.
Mr Drummond has worked at RBS CIB for more than 20 years, having held positions in relationship management, business development, structured finance and equity finance. He spent much of the last 10 years specialising in the UK real estate market.
The new directors will report to Stuart Heslop, regional managing director for real estate finance, and join a 14-strong team covering Scotland from offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen.
A family affair
SCOTTISH independent law firm bto Solicitors has appointed Lesley Gordon as a partner in its family law team.
The move comes after associates John Fotheringham, Marjory Blair and Jenny Maciver and paralegal Ruth Turley joined the family law team at bto in April.
Ms Gordon is ranked in band 1 by the Chambers and Partners UK legal directory and is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as an expert in the field of family law.
Partner Cath Karlin said the new recruit "has a strong record in all areas of family law and will be a significant asset to our business".
Building growth
STEWART Milne Timber Systems has signalled its growth intentions by appointing a new board director and augmenting its business development team.
The company, part of home building and construction company Stewart Milne Group, has recruited Eddie Stanton as sales director. Mr Stanton, who joins from his post as commercial director for Corgi Technical Services, has responsibility for UK sales as well as the company's estimating and value engineering department.
Two new appointments have been made to the company's business development team. Keith Wood joins from Scotframe and is responsible for the east of Scotland, while George Parmain will fellow recruit oversees East Anglia and the south east.
Wilkie First
EDINBURGH First, the body that markets conference, accommodation, catering and events facilities across the University of Edinburgh campus, has appointed a new head of conference and events.
Lyndsay Wilkie joins Edinburgh First from Royal Bank of Scotland, bringing 10 years of experience in management and retail business to the role.
Ms Wilkie said: "I enjoy working in a customer-focused and fast-paced environment so being part of the Edinburgh First team is the perfect fit. I look forward to delivering the range of unique venues to small intimate celebrations and conferences with over 100 delegates."
Chris Barnes, assistant director of accommodation services at Edinburgh First, added: "We're very pleased to welcome Lyndsay to Edinburgh First. She joins us with a history of loyalty and success and I am sure she will fit in well into the culture of Edinburgh First and our ethos of putting the client first."
