Ms Rae handles permanence and adoption cases, and cases involving children and families going through the Children's Hearing system.

She is a member of the firm's practice management board and plans to apply to become an accredited specialist in child law when eligible in 2016.

The promotion comes after Ms Rae was a finalist in the up and coming lawyer of the year category at last year's Law Awards of Scotland.

"Jamie's appointment as a partner is part of our strategy to grow and enhance our specialist offering to clients in an area of the law which many companies have to obtain from London and Edinburgh.

"He will be an important addition to our team and we look forward to working with him as the firm continues to move ahead."
