WHISKY glass maker Glencairn Crystal has continued to focus its attention on the luxury end of the market with the launch of a series of high-end whisky decanters that sell for as much as £75,000.

The East Kilbride-based firm, whose turnover increased by 10 per cent to £8.6 million in the last financial year, has created a range of bespoke decanters for Speyside distillery Glenfarclas as well as for Glenmorangie, Mortlach single malt and Japanese whisky brand Karuizawa.

The Glenfarclas range includes a three-decanter set made from gold, silver and bronze as well as one for the Glenfarclas 62-year old that is inlaid with rubies and sells for £34,000. The magnum-sized version is marketed for £75,000.

According to the firm, the range shows that it can showcase “not only the occasional high-end luxury decanter, but an entire portfolio of totally unique projects that show the breadth of creativity and innovation being borne out of [our] expanding team”.

The family-run company is perhaps best known for its trademarked Glencairn glass.
