NAME: Chris Fletcher, 35, of Greeness, Turriff, Aberdeenshire.
OCCUPATION: Civil servant.
FAMILY STATUS: Married to Karla, 38, HOUSE: Owns own home.
VERDICT: Both Mr and Mrs Fletcher, also a civil servant, have full-time jobs. They have transformed their lives to become more self-sufficient and live a more green lifestyle.
"It's a non-starter". That was Mr Fletcher's verdict on the Chancellor's decision to switch air tax from passengers to planes.
"Ultimately passengers will still have to pay, because airlines will either pass on the cost or they will decide they are not going to run those flights any more."
"Money going into the rail network is good, it needs to be improved. But if around a third is going to the Crossrail service in London it is a very south-east heavy budget. There's a whole country out there. In the north-east of Scotland there's hardly any network.
"They come down hard on 4x4s but people in rural communities need them.
"Climate change is still a fringe issue for politicians. I am in a car-share scheme and I use my own biodiesel. They should spend money promoting those kinds of initiatives."
