FURTHER to Thomas Crooks's letter (January 31), perhaps if cases were televised the use of the negative question would be clarified.

In one recent court case, I recall that it was reported that the prosecuting QB asked the accused, "Did you not kill Mr *?" The response was "Naw".

This of course means that the lad did, in fact, carry out the murder; he obviously should have said "Yes".
