HOW puzzling to read that Prince Harry has received a knighthood from the Queen ("Queen grants Prince Harry a knighthood in private ceremony", The Herald, June 5).
Surely it is somewhat demeaning to one with rank and style of Prince of the realm to be awarded a mere knighthood and not to be raised by a grateful monarch to a rank superior to his present elevated status; say to Lord High Executioner or something similar of adequate Gilbertian proportions and prestige?

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
