Roll on austerity

It's good that Glasgow councillors are to lose their subsidised bacon rolls with the closure of their exclusive dining room ("Cheap food for politicians axed", the Herald, February 12).

As they join the rest of the nation in tightening their belts, perhaps a similar policy could be adopted at Holyrood and Westminster.
