Why the vest will always be best

THE best piece of cycling kit I have is a Norwegian string vest, bought at the Edinburgh Cycle Co-op about 20 years ago.

It is still in regular use, which must make it the longest lasting piece of kit as well ("In praise of-string vests", The Herald, January 29).

Since realising its value, I have been looking to buy a spare but without any joy. Fortunately another feature is that it dries overnight.
