PAUL DIXON has warned Dundee's first division rivals that they will suffer the consequences if they write off the club's challenge.
The talented left-back, who has been watched by scouts from Everton, Hearts and Dundee United, believes Alex Rae's youthful side are set to bounce back after a nightmare last season.
Dixon, who will start against Partick Thistle today at Dens Park, said: "We do have a very young team. But there is good experience in the side with the manager, Danny Griffin, Bobby Mann and Andy McLaren so it won't be a problem.
"If people want to write us off we're happy with that but I'm confident we'll be up at the top end of the table at the end of the season."
Manager Alex Rae will play a French trialist after receiving clearance for the striker and said: "He is a real handful and our centre-halves were struggling to cope with him in training today so I've got a positive feeling about him."
He added: "I'm nervous about my first real game in charge but I always feel the same on the eve of a season."
