DIY Cocktails: an apple fix without the queues

Were you one of the eager shoppers queuing from the wee hours to get your hands on the latest iPhone? Or are you a bit of a technophobe?

The Apple Cin
The Apple Cin

Either way, we've got an Apple fix that's suited for all tastes - The Apple Cin!

The mix of apple and spice combine to give The Apple Cin the ultimate autumn flavour. The twist with this cocktail is that yet another seasonal taste, cranberry, is thrown into the mix. The result is a fruity, spicy, semi-sweet cocktail.

You will need

A quarter ounce of apple flavored vodka

Three quarters of an ounce of spiced rum

An ounce of cranberry juice

Half an ounce of simple syrup

1 Add apple vodka, rum, cranberry juice and simple syrup into a shaker with ice.

2 Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass.

3 Garnish with a dash of cinnamon.
